PT PLN (Persero) has prepared 108 charging stations or Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) to support the needs of 375 electric vehicles prepared for delegates, security and operations at the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo will take place from 9-11 May 2023.

PLN President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo, revealed that PLN is ready to fully support the use of electric vehicles at the ASEAN Summit. This step shows Indonesia's readiness to make an energy transition.

"This is the umpteenth time that Indonesia has carried out international leadership, after previously holding leadership in the G20 in 2022. For the implementation of the ASEAN Summit, the PLN team has provided 108 SPKLUs to meet the needs of 375 vehicles. Consisting of 195 cars for delegates, 91 security motorbikes and 89 operational vehicles.

"Not only ensuring the reliability of electricity supply, PLN also ensures the availability of SPKLU is sufficient to meet vehicle needs during the ASEAN Summit. We have installed it at strategic points to support smooth events," explained Darmawan.

Darmawan explained that 108 SPKLUs were spread across seven locations, namely the West Manggarai Regent's Office, Kampung Ujung Parking Field, ASDP Parking Parking Parking, Sudamala Hotel Parking,PLisa Hotel Parking, PRKP/ Telkom Parking, and Mabar Police Parking. The 7 SPKLUs are ultra fast charging, 1 SPKLU fast charging and the remaining 100 are standard charging.

"Until now everything has gone according to target. We have had experience at the G20 Summit, and we will repeat the success there. Of course we will continue to coordinate, especially with Paspampres to regulate the implementation of electric vehicle charging, and if possible we will conduct simulations," concluded Darmawan.
