PT Pertamina (Persero) has prepared 402 motorist fleets to deliver fuel for travelers who run out of fuel while traveling.
Pertamina President Director Nicke Widyawati said travelers who run out of fuel can contact the Pertamina 135 call center and the motorcycle prepared will deliver pocket fuel, including for travelers trapped in the middle of traffic jams.
"What if there is a traffic jam? Call 135 to ask for fuel to be sent, motorists will move even on toll roads to be allowed for contraflow," Nicke said in the RDP with Commission VI quoted on Thursday, April 20.
He added that this year his party added a motorist fleet from last year which was alerted to 220 motorists.
Nicke said that his party had also obtained permission from the authorities to enter the toll road to deliver fuel bags ordered through 135.
"So our motorists have been allowed to penetrate toll roads, even contraflows and are escorted," he said.
Nicke explained that the motorbike prepared by Pertamina came from local motorcycle taxis that had been given training. "And it's been the third year that Pertamina uses motorists to deliver fuel," he said.
He detailed that of the 402 motorbikes on standby, most of them were prepared for toll road users so as not to cause traffic jams.
"We have prepared most of them for toll roads. Because the toll road is long and traffic jams don't break down on the road. Most of them are for toll roads, they can contraflow and be escorted by the police," he said.
In addition to providing motorists, Pertamina has also prepared 7400 gas stations and 1,505 of them operate for 24 hours and are spread across potential routes such as toll roads, tourist routes, logistics lines.
Pertamina also prepared 44 Pertamina Alert Kiosks to break the queue at gas stations provided by Pertamina. "There are 201 units of standby tank mobile or motorbike dispensers at points that we estimate will increase," concluded Nicke.
