Bank Indonesia: New Money Distribution Ahead Of Eid Already 81 Percent Of IDR 195 Trillion

JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) reports that the distribution of new money intended for Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr has reached an 81 percent portion of the total Rp195 trillion.

BI Deputy Governor Aida Budiman said the amount was equivalent to Rp157.9 trillion and had been distributed throughout Indonesia.

"The public's interest is very high, especially in the denominations of Rp. 20,000, Rp. 10,000, and Rp. 100,000," he said in Jakarta when answering reporters' questions, Tuesday, April 18.

According to Aida, the central bank views that the total funds provided are still sufficient until the end of the post-wide program.

So far, we have not seen any need for additional Rp195 trillion. However, if needed, Bank Indonesia is certainly ready for that," he said.

VOI noted that BI serves new currency exchanges from March 20 to April 20, 2023 at 5,066 locations throughout Indonesia. Of these, 599 points are located in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas.
