AP I Airport Passenger Recovery Rate Has Reached 84 Percent In March 2023

JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura I recorded that it had served 5,269,731 passenger movements at 15 airports managed during the March 2023 period.

With this movement of passengers, Angkasa Pura I's recovery rate has reached 84 percent compared to 2019.

President Director of PT Angkasa Pura I Faik Fahmi said, the top three Angkasa Pura I airports that served the most passenger movements in March 2023 was I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali with 1,510,899 movements.

Surabaya Juanda Airport with 1,092,133 movements, and Makassar Sultan Hasanuddin Airport with 868,317 movements.

Meanwhile, for aircraft movements, the number of movements served in March 2023 reached 44,504 movements.

Meanwhile, when compared to the records in the March 2019 period which reached 57,325 movements, the recovery rate for aircraft movements in March 2023 reached 78 percent.

As for cargo movements, with the number of cargoes served in March 2023 reaching 38,358 tons, the recovery rate for cargo movements in March 2023 reached 99 percent when compared to the record for the period March 2019 which reached 38,883 tons of cargo.

"The movement of passengers, aircraft, and cargo in March 2023 continues the positive trend in 2023. With a recovery rate of passenger movements reaching 84 percent, aircraft movements at 78 percent, and cargo movements even reaching 99 percent, of course, it is a sign that the aviation industry and the airport sector have started to recover," he said in an official statement, Monday, April 10.

Faik said, passenger movements in March 2023 reached 5,269,731 movements, divided into 4,198,276 passenger movements for domestic routes and 1,071,455 passenger movements for international routes.

The recovery rate for passenger movements on the domestic route in March 2023 compared to March 2019 reached 85 percent, while for international route passenger movements it reached 78 percent.

Aircraft movements in March 2023 reached 44,504 movements, divided into 37,971 aircraft movements for domestic routes and 6,533 aircraft movements for international routes.

While the recovery rate for domestic route aircraft movements reached 77 percent, while for international flight movements, it reached 80 percent.

Meanwhile, cargo movement in March 2023 reached 38,358 tons, divided into 32,270 tons of domestic cargo and 4,088 tons of international cargo.

Then the recovery rate for domestic cargo movements reached 126 percent, and for international cargo movements, it reached 35 percent.

"In March 2023, the recovery rate for domestic and international route traffic, especially for passenger and aircraft movements, was very good. This is of course due to the increasing interest and need for citizens to travel by air transportation," he said.

"And supported by easier air travel conditions and more varied choices of airlines connecting our airports," he concluded.
