Wanting To Be Present In Indonesia, Orders For EV9 In Canada Are Stopped

JAKARTA - South Korean vehicle company Kia announced that it had stopped booking reservations for its electric SUV, EV9 in Canada. The cause of the termination of reservations for the large-dimensional SUV is quite unique.

Kia said booking reservations at EV9 were stopped due to high demand for the Canadian market. The company says it only allocates as many as 500 EV9 units in Canada.

Reporting from InsideEVs, Saturday, August 5, the total allocation for the large-dimensional SUV is considered very low. Moreover, the demand for three-line SUVs and electric vehicles continues to increase in the North American market.

Although the exact cause of this allocation restriction was not disclosed by Kia, it is likely that the company wants to build strong enthusiasm among the Canadian people for this electric vehicle. In addition, the possibility of supply problems is also a factor that limits demand so much.

EV9's exterior design reflects the philosophy of "Bold for Nature" that combines natural elements with material wealth. The appearance of this SUV is also considered the cornerstone for future electric SUV designs.

Overall, the shape of the box with a firm line underlines the impression of being dashing. The triangular and wheel arch sepabor structures that stand out to blend with the body of the car, create a tough look.

EV9's front light also stands out with the innovative feature "Star Map LED daytime running lights (DRL)" which creates interesting variations in lighting patterns. The back of the car is equipped with striking sleek taillights.

On the side, the door and trim are Hitam Kilap, reinforced with a 19-inch rim as standard. The GT-Line S variant offers 21-inch rims. The interior of the car also features interesting features.

Not only the display, EV9 also offers impressive performance. The water variant is equipped with an electric motor with 198 dk of power and a 350 Nm torque, moving the rear wheel (RWD). While the GT-Line and GT-Line S variants, have all-wheel drive (AWD), with a peak power of 372 dk and a torque of 700 Nm.

For batteries, the three EV9 variants have a capacity of 99.8 kWh, capable of exploring up to 540 km for the water variant. While the top variant has a range of 495 km in one charge.

In the United States, the estimated price of EV9 starts at $55,000 or around Rp.834.7 million. The SUV is expected to arrive at the dealers by the end of the year.

Indonesia will also feel the presence of Kia EV9, which will be presented at the 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), August 10-20 at ICE BSD, Tangerang.
