The Indonesian Embassy In Manila Introduces Tempe At The 2023 ASEAN Food Festival
JAKARTA - The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Manila introduced traditional tempeh food through the Tempe Festival which was held at the 2023 ASEAN Food Festival (AFF) at SM Mall of Asia, Manila, on August 6.
"The Indonesian Embassy strongly supports the promotion of tempe as a superfood for the pride of the Indonesian nation in the Philippines," said Indonesian Ambassador to the Philippines Agus Widjojo through a press release from the Indonesian Embassy in Manila received by Antara in Jakarta, Sunday.
Ambassador Agus said that he welcomed the event initiative which was held in collaboration with the Advanced Indonesia Ambassador Foundation.
Agus said that the promotion of tempe as an Indonesian cultural heritage combined with the promotion of cultural arts has become very attractive and provides other attractions for visitors.
Carrying the theme "Tempe Goes to Philippines for the World", the Tempe Festival is said to be intended to promote tempeh as a nutritious healthy food from Indonesia which can be processed into various dishes to the Filipino people.

Stan KBRI served various kinds of tempeh processed foods, such as tempeh orek, tempeh goreng, tempeh balayo, tempe chips, tempeh retort onion, bolognesetempeh, and rendang tempeh and sambal nusantara which were distributed to visitors for free.
Chairman of the Ad Hoc Festival Tempe as well as founder of the Indonesian Gastronomi Community Mimis S Sasmoyo in his presentation gave an explanation of various nutritional ingredients and the benefits of tempeh for health.
Meanwhile, Chef Yudhi Harijono and Chef Eek Kie demonstrated to process tempeh into the world's first justice coffee, the first foreign minister to launch the event.
