A Woman Who Smuggled 5 Kg Of Methamphetamine Who Was Pregnant For 7 Months Turned Out To Be A Cocaine Recidivist In Thailand

JAKARTA Faith Igaiza Kidake (29), a woman from Kenya who was arrested at Soekarno Hatta Airport (Soetta) for carrying 5 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine (Kg), turned out to be a Thai recidivist in 2018 for possession of 2 kg of cocaine. Five years later, the woman who is now 7 months pregnant is again dealing with the law.

"The suspect FIK is a 2018 recidivist who was caught in Thailand for possession of 2 kg of cocaine," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Komarudin to reporters at the Central Jakarta Police Headquarters, Tuesday, August 1.

The methamphetamine brought by Faith was worth IDR 7.5 billion. He put the methamphetamine in a modified suitcase. However, thanks to the officers' accuracy, the illicit goods were found.

Komarudin said the Central Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Unit was still developing the FIK suspect. Because, based on the examination, the methamphetamine brought by Faith will be sent to Central Jakarta.

"If the issue of ordering can happen, of course the groups or dealers are trying various ways to enter Indonesia. The suspects are international network, by air," he said.

The arrest was one of the efforts of the Central Jakarta Metro Police to anticipate that the younger generation could survive access to drug trafficking. Because of the efforts of international drug dealers to smuggle a lot by sea and air.

Previously, Soekarno Hatta Airport Customs secured a woman from Kenya, 7 months pregnant. The woman with the initials FIK (29) was arrested by officers for carrying 5.1 kilograms of methamphetamine.

Head of the Soekarno-Hatta Customs Office, Gatot Sugeng Wibowo, said the FIK was secured at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Tangerang City, Sunday, July 23. The perpetrator's mode is to store methamphetamine under the suitcase he was carrying.

"So the perpetrator's mode of storing the methamphetamine was in a suitcase and was deliberately left on the ground handling to trick the officers," said Gatot to reporters at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Tangerang City.
