Including Investigators Of JB Initials, West Pasaman Police Hunt 6 People In Illegal Gold Mining Case
PASAMAN BARAT - West Pasaman Resort Police, West Sumatra, named six people on the wanted list in the gold mining case without permission (peti) after three people were arrested in Jorong Lubuk Bakar, Nagari Muaro Kiawai, Gunung Tuleh District, last Saturday."It's true, we continue to pursue six people because they have their respective roles in illegal gold mining," said West Pasaman Police Chief AKBP Agung Basuki at Simpang Empat, Antara, Monday, July 31.The six DPOs are the initials JB (45) as investors, initials A (26) and R (21) as field coordinators, J (35) as operators of heavy equipment, and M (21) and N (23) as children box."Each of them has a role in the smooth mining of gold based on the statements of the three perpetrators who have been arrested," he said.Against the six DPOs, the police have pocketed their respective identities. "We hope they surrender immediately or we will take firm action," he said.Agung emphasized that his staff will continue to eradicate illegal gold mining using heavy equipment in West Pasaman because this action damages the environmental ecosystem and can cause natural disasters."We ask for the support and cooperation of all parties to fight this illegal gold mine. Moreover, we have formed anti-gold mining without permission," he said.Earlier, in the early hours of Saturday, the West Pasaman Police arrested three illegal gold miners with the initials A (29) as operators, as well as A (34) and N (36) as box children.The arrest of the perpetrators of the illegal gold mine was carried out on Saturday (29/7) at around 03.00 WIB under the leadership of the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Fahrel Haris.The team found that the perpetrator was mining gold using an orange Hitachi excavator in the Batang Pasaman River.After being arrested, they admitted to mining activities on the orders of a financier with the initials J who is also the owner of heavy equipment and initials A as the field coordinator.Currently, the suspects have been detained at the West Pasaman Police Headquarters based on LP/A/5/VII/2023-SPKT Res Pasbar dated July 29, 2023.The three suspects are subject to Article 158 in conjunction with Article 35 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 3 of 2020 concerning amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 4 of 2009 concerning Mineral Coal Mining and or Article 89 Paragraph (1) letters a and b in conjunction with Article 17 Paragraph (1) letters a and b of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 18 of 2013 concerning Prevention and Eradication of Forest Destruction as amended in Article 37 number 5 paragraph (1) letter a and b in conjunction with Article 39 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 6 of 2023 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation into Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code."The suspect is threatened with a maximum prison sentence of 15 years and a maximum fine of Rp. 10 billion," he said.
From the suspect's hands, evidence was confiscated of one unit of heavy excavator equipment, one blue pipe measuring two meters long, two pieces from the board, three green carpets made of plastic, and one gold scale.
