Police Arrest TIP Perpetrators Who Distribute Illegal Migrant Workers From Kerinci Regency To Malaysia
Jambi - Jambi Regional Police (Polda) together with Kerinci Police arrested a woman suspected of trafficking in persons (TPPO) with the mode of distributing Indonesian migrant workers.
"Indonesian migrant workers from Kerinci Regency were promised to become workers in Malaysia, but this was done illegally," said Head of Public Relations of the Jambi Police, Kombes Pol Mulia Prianto in an official statement received in Jambi, Saturday.
The local police received information that there were three victims who would be dispatched to Malaysia via Dumai, Riau.
Based on this information, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, July 22, the Kerinci Police Criminal Investigation Unit immediately carried out an investigation and ambush, precisely on the road of Nan Godang Village, Siulak District, Kerinci Regency, the police stopped a car suspected of transporting victims of trafficking people who would be brought to Malaysia.
When the car was stopped, there were three men who were victims of trafficking in persons and a woman with the initials S (46) who was suspected of being the perpetrator.
The victims and perpetrators were immediately arrested, and information was obtained that the perpetrator recruited the prospective illegal migrant worker because he did not have legality from the relevant agencies and was carried out individually by collecting a sum of Rp5 million per person.

The victims were promised that they would be given jobs after arriving in Malaysia, namely as gardens in oil palm plantations and guards with a salary of Rp. 7 million per month.
The perpetrator is currently being held at the Kerinci Police, with evidence in the form of three passports, account books, two cellphones, slip deposit proof of Dumai-Malaysia ticket payment at a price of Rp. 3 million.
