Jokowi Praises The Puskesmas In Seluma Bengkulu Actively Handling Stunting

BENGKULU - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) expressed his appreciation for the handling of stunting cases in Seluma Regency, Bengkulu Province.

This was conveyed when reviewing public health services at the Sari Mulyo Health Center, Seluma Regency, Bengkulu, Friday, July 21.

"This health center is very active in dealing with stunting. Today I saw and checked it directly. This is an achievement," said Jokowi.

The head of state said the government is currently seriously reducing the stunting rate.

Therefore, he said, local governments must play an active role in overcoming this so that the number of stunting cases continues to decline, even in the future there will be zero cases.

"Every year this stunting rate continues to decline. In 2024 I want everyone to be free from stunting," he said.

The government, he said, has disbursed a budget for stunting treatment so that local governments must follow up by taking concrete actions to deal with stunting.

"The active role of the local government must be carried out in handling stunting. The real work that I am waiting for," he said.

Regarding the budget, apart from the central government, local governments must also budget for optimal stunting handling.

"Every week I monitor the development of stunting. So let's work, by carrying out real actions," he said.
