Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Visits Jenin After The Israeli Attack
JAKARTA - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas visited Jenin City in the West Bank to examine the damage caused by an Israeli army attack recently.
Abbas arrived in Jenin using a Jordanian helicopter from Ramallah City, the Palestinian TV station stated, as reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Wednesday, July 12.
Abbas will also visit Jenin's Syuhada Jenin Cemetery, where Palestinians were killed in last week's Israeli attack.
Arriving in Jenin, Abbas was greeted by Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh and a number of other officials.
"City reconstruction (Jenin) is still ongoing," Shtayyeh told Palestinian TV station.
Abbas's visit to Jenin was the first since 2012.
The Palestinian president usually does not visit Palestinian cities, except Bethlehem at Christmas.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said at least 12 Palestinians, including five children, were killed and more than 140 others injured in the Israeli invasion.
The Israeli attack also left traces of the devastating destruction across the city in the West Bank which destroyed dozens of homes, vehicles, shops, and utility lines.
