President Jokowi Says Many Foreign Investors Interested In Managing Kertajati Airport

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo said that many foreign investors wanted to enter and invest in Kertajati Airport (Airport), Majalengka, West Java.

"Now there are many wishes from foreign countries to enter Kertajati Airport," Jokowi said when inaugurating To Cisumdawu in Sumedang, West Java, Tuesday, July 11.

However, he was reluctant to mention which countries had taken an interest in Kertajati Airport.

According to Jokowi, the high interest of investors is supported by the existence of the Cisumdawu Toll Road which connects Bandung with Kertajati Airport.

"I hope that with the operation of the Cisumdawu Toll Road, Kertajati Airport will become a large airport and can fully operate in October," he said.

Jokowi said that at the start of the construction of the Cisumdawu Toll Road and Kertajati Airport, it was expected to be completed at the same time.

"In the past, we did this together so that the toll road would be built, the airport would be finished. Simultaneously. But because of land acquisition matters, the airport was completed, and the toll road had not disrupted airport operations," he said.
