Today's BTS Corruption Case Trial, Prosecutor Responds To The Exception Of Defendant Johnny G Plate Cs
JAKARTA - Former Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Johnny G Plate will undergo a follow-up hearing in the alleged corruption case in the provision of 4G Base Transceiver Station (BTS) infrastructure in 2020-2022, today.
The Public Prosecutor (JPU) will read out his response to the exception or objection note that the NasDem politician had submitted at the previous trial.
"The submission of responses to the exception from PHT," wrote the Central Jakarta District Court Case Investigation Information System (SIPP) website, quoted by VOI, Tuesday, July 11.
Apart from Jonny G Plate, the prosecutor will also respond to the exception of two other defendants. They are the President Director of Bakti Kominfo Anang Achmad Latif, and the Human Development (Hudev) Expert at the University of Indonesia in 2020 Yohan Suryanto.
At the previous trial, Johnny G Plate through his lawyer, Ahmad Cholidin, said the value of state losses of Rp8.032 trillion from the alleged corruption in the procurement of a 4G base transceiver station (BTS) in 2020-2022 was invalid. He reasoned that the project was still ongoing.
That way, Johnny G Plate is claimed not to cause state losses or at least the calculation of state losses as of March 31, 2022 becomes invalid. Moreover, the process of checking the results of the work (BAPHP) is still ongoing.
"Based on the results of the investigation, it was revealed that the 4G BTS activity did not stall and was still ongoing until now, and was extended until June 30, 2026," said Ahmad Cholidin.
