The head of the Bandung Police Traffic Unit, Kompol Mangku Anom, assessed that since the post-COVID-19 pandemic, road users' traffic compliance has decreased. So that the prosecution of traffic violators will be re-implemented on the streets in the operation.
"That's why with this operation, it is hoped that the act of taking action against violations will aim to increase compliance, reduce violations, accidents," said Anom in Bandung, West Java, Friday.
As for 2023, the operation has the theme "Certainly Passing As a Mirror of Morality". The operation will last for 14 days, from 10- to 23 July 2023.
Anom said the police officers would later be mobile in taking action against traffic violators. So that no police officer is static in taking action.
In addition, according to him, the Bandung Police Traffic Unit continues to optimize prosecution with an electronic traffic law enforcement (ETLE) system.
He explained that road users who were targeted for prosecution included going against the flow, not wearing helmets, minors, violating signs, violating APILL (traffic signaling tools), exceeding the speed limit, and using cell phones while driving.

According to him, the operation will also be an evaluation of points prone to traffic violations in Bandung Regency. Because this needs to be updated since there was no traffic action in the field some time ago.
"At least we determine based on accident data, the high ones may be densely populated areas, and areas that have vulnerable road contours," said Anom.
Most importantly, he also hopes that the operation in the future can reduce the number of accidents to cause casualties on the streets.
