Minister Of Religion Yaqut Please Quota For 2024 Hajj Officers Plus

JAKARTA - Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas hopes that the quota of officers for the implementation of the 1445 Hijri/2024 AD Hajj can be added, given the proportion of incommensurate Hajj participants.

"Yesterday when I met with Saudi Minister of Hajj Tawfiq F Al Rabiah, I said that the quota of officers given to Indonesia was far from ideal, so it needed to be added," said the Minister of Religion in a statement quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 7.

Yaqut said the addition of hajj officers was important. Currently, the comparison is one officer compared to 50 Hajj participants. In fact, officers are also scattered in various places, such as the Airport, Mecca, and Medina Working Areas.

With unbalanced comparison, he said, the workers' workload is also very heavy. As a result, many officers do things outside of their responsibility.

The condition experienced by the Hajj officers is also getting heavier along with the large number of elderly pilgrims (elderly) who need assistance.

"For example, I see that some media friends in Mina have to carry the congregation. I think we are still negotiating so that in the future the officers are given not based on proportions, but based on needs," he said.

In the future, the Ministry of Religion will coordinate with the Government of Saudi Arabia, especially regarding the operations of officers who work during the peak of Hajj in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Mina).

"For example, the needs in Armuzna will be different from those in Armuzna. In the future, we will try to make efforts, discuss with the Saudi Arabian government how the officers in Armuzna will only be on duty at that time. After Armuzna, he can return to the country," he said.

During the 1444 Hijri/2023 AD pilgrimage, around 4,000 Hajj officers were dispatched to the Holy Land to help the participants of the pilgrimage.
