170 Retired TNI-Polri Announce Anies Baswedan Capres 2024

A total of 170 retired high-ranking TNI-Polri officers have declared their support for the presidential candidate (candidate) from the Change Coalition for Unity, Anies Baswedan.

They are members of the Retired High Officer of the TNI-Polri for Change (FP3) held a declaration at the Yuan Garden Hotel, Central Jakarta, Thursday, July 6. FP3 Coordinator Lieutenant General TNI (Ret.) Ediwan Prabowo explained, this support is based on concerns about the current state of national and state life that has not reflected the conditions as expected. "Where the practice of law and government management is not in favor of the people and is detrimental to the state, as well as the strong concern of serious divisions between the nation's children," said Ediwan in a press conference, Thursday, July 6, filled with Antara. FP3 hopes that the existence of a new government with a vision of change can reunite the nation's children, correct all problems that harm the state and are able to bring a better and more prosperous Indonesia. He invites all elements of the nation and state to jointly maintain security and peace in the 2024 election contestation. He reminded that there are no riots and divisions between the nation's children. FP3 also hopes that all elements of the nation can work hand in hand to maintain the honest, fair, free, free and democratic 2024 elections. For this reason, the government and election organizers play a role in realizing and maintaining a sense of security and peace.

On the other hand, Ediwan hopes that three parties in the Coalition for Change for Unity consisting of the NasDem Party, Democrats and PKS can immediately announce the figure of the candidate for vice president (cawapres) who accompanies Anies Baswedan. "FP3 hopes that the three parties that are members of the KPP can immediately form a secretariat with Anies Baswedan to immediately announce the vice presidential candidate who will accompany him," explained Ediwan. FP3 is a joint forum for Retired High Officers TNI and PolRI across generations (of graduation) and cross-agency (AD,AL AU, POLRI) from the rank of one star to three stars. "FP3 appeals and reminds active TNI-Polri members, ASN as well as state officials and government officials to be truly neutral and become examples of neutrality in holding the 2024 election," he said.

Our determination and enthusiasm to jointly support and succeed other components of the nation for the implementation of the 2024 election democracy party which is truly safe, peaceful, democratic, honest and fair. 2. Our determination and enthusiasm to make the 2024 election a momentum of struggle towards a better and more prosperous change in Indonesia based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution.

In the event, Ediwan was accompanied by Vice Admiral (Ret.) Dedi Muhibah Pribadi who had served as Dansesko TNI Navy. Then, Major General (Ret.) Hartomo who had served as Special Staff to the Chief of Army Staff, Marshal Madya TNI (Ret.) Muhammad Syaugi who had served as Basarnas and Inspector General Pol (Ret.) Anas Yusuf who once held the position of Main Policy Analyst for STIK Lemdiklat Polri. According to the stages, registration of presidential candidates (candidates) and vice presidential candidates (cawapres) was scheduled for October 19 to November 25, 2023. Based on Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections (U of Elections), pairs of candidates and vice presidential candidates were proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in the election who met the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the number of seats in the DPR or obtained 25 percent of the nationally valid votes in the previous election of members of the DPR. Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament, so that pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election must have a minimum support of 115 seats in the DPR RI. It could also be that candidate pairs are carried by political parties or coalition of political parties participating in the 2019 Election with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
