Novak Djokovic Still 'Hungry' for Titles, 2023 Wimbledon Trophy Could Make Him Equal to Roger Federer and Margaret Court's Achievements
JAKARTA - Tennis player from Serbia, Novak Djokovic, has the ambition to win Wimbledon 2023. This strong candidate to win has a big mission, namely to match the achievements of tennis legend, Roger Federer.
Djokovic has just set a record by winning his 23rd major tournament title in his career. The most recent title he won was the 2023 French Open.
However, that did not dampen his ambition to continue chasing other trophies. Wimbledon 2023 is also a goal to complete his collection of eight trophies at that event.
If that is achieved, Djokovic will become the fourth tennis player in history to win eight or more Wimbledon titles after Martina Navratilova (nine), Federer, and Helen Wills Moody (eight).
Apart from that, the 2023 Wimbledon title will bring him level with the achievements of Margaret Court, who has collected 24 Grand Slam trophies.
"I still feel hungry for success, more Grand Slams, more achievements in tennis," said Djokovic, quoted by AFP via Antara.
"As long as there's that drive, I know that I'm capable of competing at the highest level."
"A few days after Roland Garros, I was already thinking about the preparations for the grass court and what needed to be done," continued the 36-year-old athlete.
Djokovic shows no signs of slowing down in his career. Eleven of his 23 Grand Slam titles have come since he was 30 years old.
Victory in the Wimbledon final on July 16 will see him crowned as the tournament's oldest champion in the Open era.

"Many people came up to me and congratulated me, reminding me of the historic success," Djokovic said.
"I'm very flattered, but at the same time my mind is already on Wimbledon, what's the next Slam, what's the next task," he continued.
Should Djokovic successfully defend his Wimbledon title, he would only need to bag the US Open in September to become the first man since 1969 to claim all the Grand Slam titles in one year.
"When I entered Center Court, I think it awakened something in me and I was able to perform at a very high level," said Djokovic.
