Menpora Dito Ariotedjo Affirms U-17 World Cup Opportunity For Young Players To Show Off
JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (Menpora RI) Dito Ariotedjo said the U-17 FIFA World Cup would be a good opportunity for young Indonesian players.
According to the Menpora, the championship will clearly be a very valuable experience for the Red and White Squad.
"Certainly the U-17 World Cup is a good opportunity for our young players," said Menpora Dito, quoted from the official website of the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports, Thursday.
Menpora Dito Ariotedjo ensured that Indonesia was very ready to host the event. Various preparations continue to be finalized, including in several stadiums that will be used later.
"Actually, this was originally for the U-20 one, we are ready. Now this only changes the one to the U-17," said Menpora Dito.
Furthermore, the Minister of Youth and Sports will invite PSSI to a joint meeting to discuss a number of matters related to the holding of the FIFA U-17 World Cup which is planned to take place in November 2023. The meeting with PSSI, according to the Menpora, will take place as soon as possible.
"We will try to sit down with PSSI later, discuss this implementation. The point is that we all welcome and are enthusiastic. We will discuss it maybe next week. We will continue to find the best solution," said Menpora Dito.
Dito Ariotedjo later said that the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo wanted 22 stadiums in Indonesia to be used anytime and anywhere. The stadiums will be used for the benefit of various national and international events.
"The target is that the 22 stadiums in Indonesia can be used anytime and anywhere. For the Jakarta International Stadium, there are records and they are related to the door and parking," said Menpora Dito.
"This is my plan to visit JIS in the near future, because the President also wants JIS to be renovated according to standards," concluded Dito Ariotedjo.
