Jokowi: At The Beginning I Was Afraid Of Conceding Many It Turned Out To Be Good, INI Experienced By National Team Players

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo admitted that he was worried that the Indonesian national team would concede many goals while watching FIFA Matchday between the Indonesian national team and the Argentine national team.

This was conveyed by the President after watching the Indonesia vs Argentina match at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK) on Monday night which ended with a score of 0-2.

"At the beginning, I was afraid of conceding a lot. It turned out to be good," said Jokowi at the GBK Senayan Main Stadium, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 19.

The President revealed that he was worried that the Indonesian national team would concede many goals because the players looked nervous in the early stages of the match.

However, the Indonesian national team began to balance the game in the second round which the President considered an extraordinary match.

"This is a big experience for the players because we saw that in the early days his mental nervousness was still, but in the second half it was extraordinary, he was able to balance it. As an experience as well as an evaluation for our national team," said Jokowi.

Even though Indonesia had to lose, President Jokowi assessed that the Indonesian national team players had worked hard because they only conceded two goals with the 2022 World Cup winner national team.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian national team, which is ranked 149 football in the world, will have a lot of experience through competitions with big teams.

In the previous match, the Indonesian national team also managed to hold back a 0-0 goalless draw in a match with the Palestinian national team which was ranked 93rd in the world.

"Ranking 1, which is ranked 149, yes. I think the chairman of PSSI will continue to bring in big teams from outside, so that we have more experience, our team has more experiences, the more they compete, the more experiences," said Jokowi.
