Broken Tires, SAM Air Plane Slipped At Ambon Pattimura Airport
The AMBON - The SAM Air plane that skidded at Pattimura International Airport in Ambon City, Maluku Province, on Sunday afternoon has been evacuated, said the Head of the Ambon Search and Rescue Office Mustari. "The airline that served this local flight route skidded on the airport runway at 12.30 WIT while carrying out a ground maneuver and a left tire broke out so that it moved out towards the left runway (runway)," said Mustari, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, June 18. He said that the Ambon Search and Rescue Office (Basarnas) received information about the accident at 13.02 WIT and immediately deployed eight rescue personnel and vehicles to the scene. Rescue team from Basarnas Ambon with airport security officers and personnel from Pattimura Air Base managed to secure and evacuate the plane at 14.30 WIT. The runway of Pattimura Airport can be reused after officers evacuated the derailed plane. Mostari said that no one was injured in the accident that occurred on the plane belonging to SAM Air with the PK-SMS registration number. PGS General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I Branch Pattimura Ambon Airport Dian Air Suprabowo said that the SAM Air PK-SMS aircraft was flown from Pattimura Airport for flight exercise purposes at 09.20 WIT.
