Recidivist Of Methamphetamine Case Sued 9 Years In Prison At Medan District Court
The Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati Sumut) Tiorida J Hutagaol demanded that the defendant Rudiyanto, a recidivist in a criminal case of drug abuse of methamphetamine, be sentenced to nine years in prison.
"Asking the panel of judges who examine and try this case to declare the defendant guilty of violating Article 114 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law no. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics, and a fine of Rp. 1 billion, subsidiary to one year in prison," said the Public Prosecutor at the Medan District Court hearing, reported by ANTARA, Thursday, June 15.
Tiorida said the aggravating thing was that the defendant's actions hampered the government's program in eradicating drugs, that the defendant had already been convicted of methamphetamine in 2011 and 2015.
"The mitigating thing is that the defendant is not complicated in giving information, and the defendant is polite," said the prosecutor.
After reading the demands, the panel of judges led by Khamozaro Waruwu continued the trial next week with the agenda of the defense trial (pledoi).
