The whale carcass was first discovered by local people because it was stranded on the beach and then they reported it to the local Marine and Fisheries Service.
He said the BKSDA itself was late to learn when the whales died and were stranded on Seli Village Beach, because there were no BKSDA officers in Tidore Islands City, so there were no reports.
"We are still investigating the whales, what they died for, so coordination is still being carried out with the Tidore Islands City Marine and Fisheries Service, because they and the people who evacuated the marine mammal carcasses," he said.

Therefore, Yeni appealed to the public and related agencies to find a whale that died or was stranded in an area, so immediately inform the BKSDA.
"If there is information, we will definitely send a team to carry out an investigation earlier before the whale carcass is buried by the community and other relevant agencies," said Plh Head of the Conservation Section Region I Ternate.
Previously, the Tidore Islands City Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Service together with the local community had difficulty burying the whale carcasses, so they were forced to evacuate the marine mammal carcasses to Mare Island, which is far from community settlements.
