Task Force Arrests TIP Perpetrators Who Want To Escape To Timor Leste
JAKARTA - Personnel from the East Nusa Tenggara Police Trafficking Crime Task Force (TPPO) arrested JP, the alleged perpetrator of TIP in Belu Regency, who was about to flee to Timor Leste.
Belu Police Chief, AKBP Richo Nataldo Devallas Simanjuntak, said that JP was arrested by the TPPO Task Force team at the Mota'Ain cross-border post terminal (PLBN) Silawan Village, East Tasifeto District on Saturday, June 10, yesterday.
"We arrested the perpetrator when he was about to go to Timor Leste using an Inter-Border Transport (ALBN) bounding Kupang-Timor Leste," said AKBP Richo Nataldo, quoting Antara, Sunday, June 11.
JP is known to have been the target of the local police and has even been chased to Kupang Regency because his party received information that JP was in Kupang.
"However, upon arrival in Kupang, the team received information that the person concerned had moved to Belu Regency with the aim of Timor Leste," he added.
Finally, with good cooperation from the Satreskim together with Intel and the immigration authorities, we secure the JP perpetrator along with evidence in the form of a passport belonging to the person concerned.

The arrests were made after local police received a report from a TIP victim with the initials IESB regarding the recruitment carried out by JP last May.
Of course, this arrest was based on a report from one of the Belu residents with the initials IESB who claimed to be a victim of TIP with the recruiter being none other than the JP around May 2022.
"Currently, the suspect JP is being held at the Resort Police and is currently undergoing investigation by investigators from the Belu Police Criminal Investigation Unit," concluded the Belu Police Chief.
Furthermore, he reminded residents in NTT, especially in Belu Regency, not to be easily swallowed up by the talk or sweet lure of TIP recruiters in NTT, especially in the area, especially in illegal ways.
