JAKARTA - Chairman of the DPP Association of Retired Indonesian Armed Forces (Pepabri) General TNI Retired Agum Gumelar said his party and retired leaders from various organizations met President Joko Widodo at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.
Agum explained that the arrival of retired organizations such as the Air Force Retired Association (PPAU), PPAL, PPAD, PPPolri and the Veterans Legion of the Republic of Indonesia (LVRI) intend to propose to improve their welfare to the government.
"We were accepted by the President and in this meeting, we reported about our efforts by Retired officials to ask the government to improve welfare for retired people," Agum said when met at the Jakarta Presidential Palace yard, reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 22.
Agum explained that his party and the Purnawirawan leadership are making a comprehensive and feasible proposal.
The proposal will be submitted to President Joko Widodo through the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres).
"We are making a comprehensive proposal, which is 'feasible', which we can realize that all of this has passed away to our country's financial coffers, so we will convey it to the President through Wantimpres," said Agum.
In addition to submitting an increase in welfare, Purnawirawan leaders emphasized that neutrality ahead of the 2024 General Election and Presidential Election was submitted to President Joko Widodo.
