Raid Abortion Clinic In Duren Sawit Area, Police Secure One Woman

JAKARTA - A house allegedly used as an abortion clinic was raided by the East Jakarta Metro Police, Wednesday, May 17, afternoon.

The house that was used as an abortion clinic was in the RT 09/10 area, Billymoon Complex, Pondok Kelapa, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta.

According to local residents, the residents of the abortion clinic had only been living in the house for 1 week.

"It has only been occupied for 1 week, previously it was empty," said one resident who declined to give his name to reporters, Wednesday, May 17.

East Jakarta Metro Police officers who arrived at the scene immediately conducted a crime scene investigation. The police also arrested a female perpetrator. Then the police put up a police line at the house. The case is being handled by the East Jakarta Metro Police Satreskrim.

East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Leonardus Simarmata confirmed the abortion clinic raid in the Duren Sawit area.

"It's still being recorded by the Criminal Investigation Unit, please take time," he said when confirmed by VOI.
