Yogyakarta Regional Police Legal Process Of Shooting Residents During Music Performance In Gunungkidul

YOGYAKARTA - Yogyakarta Special Region Police confirmed the legal process against police officers related to the death of a resident who was allegedly shot during a music performance event in Wuni Hamlet, Nglindur, Girisubo, Gunungkidul Regency on Sunday (14/5) night.

"For now, the case is handled by the Yogyakarta Regional Police, both internal and general law enforcement," said Head of Sub-Division of Public Relations of the Yogyakarta Regional Police, AKBP Verena SW in a statement in Yogyakarta as reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 15.

Verena explained that the incident of the shooting of a resident on behalf of Aldi Aprianto (19) began when the music performance took place in the context of cleaning the hamlet in Padukuhan Wuni, Nglindur, Girisubo, Gunungkidul on Sunday (14/5) at around 20.30 WIB.

At around 22.30 WIB, continued Verena, there was a commotion between the viewers of the music performance.

In the midst of the commotion, he continued, there was an explosion that came from a firearm carried by a police officer with the initials Brigadier MK which then hit Aldi and resulted in the victim's death.

"At around 23.00 WIB there was an explosion of firearms that was intercepted by the Constitutional Court Brigadier, which hit Aldi Aprianto's brother, causing the person concerned to die," he said.

The Yogyakarta Regional Police expressed their condolences for this incident.

"We, the Yogyakarta Regional Police, express our condolences for what happened to Aldi Aprianto's brother," said Verena.
