The Logistics Building Of The Abepura Hospital In Papua Fires, The Cause Is Still Being Investigated
PAPUA - The logistics warehouse of the Abepura Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Jayapura City, Papua, caught fire on Tuesday, May 9 at around 14:49 WIT.
Abepura Hospital Director Daisy Urbinas said the cause of the fire in the logistics warehouse is still being investigated.
"Because when the logistics warehouse fire broke out, it was locked, so that security and health officers could not do anything," Jayapura said, Papua, Tuesday, May 9, which was confiscated by Antara.
According to Urbinas, the Abepura Hospital has a Light Fire Extinguishing Tool (APAR) in each room, but because the logistics building is locked so it cannot be used properly.
"But we are grateful that the fire did not spread to the nutrition room because in that room we had just provided LPG gas so that our officers were still preparing so that the fire would not go to the nutrition room," he said.
He explained, after the fire occurred in the logistics warehouse, health services for residents were running normally.
"Because the fire did not occur in the health care room for the community," he said.

Meanwhile, Jayapura City Fire Department (Damkar) Margaretha Veronika Kirana said the fire could be controlled after five fire fleets consisted of two tank cars and three water cannon cars, assisted by an AWC unit belonging to the Papua Police Mobile Brigade, arrived at the location to extinguish the fire.
"In addition, assisted by an AWC unit belonging to the Polresta, a fire department belonging to Lantamal X Jayapura, and several water tankers belonging to PDAM, as well as the PUPR Ministry, and private property," he said.
He added that there was a fire by health workers at the Abepura Hospital evacuating patients who were in the ER room and after all the patients were evacuated three of them died.
