ASDP Increases Alertness Ahead Of The Peak Of The Second Wave Backflow
JAKARTA - PT. Lake Sungai and Crossing Transportation (ASDP) Indonesia Ferry of Bakauheni Crossing Port increases alertness to face the peak of the second wave of backflow from Sumatra to Java Island.
Reporting from Antara, Saturday, April 29, the number of passengers and vehicles crossing from Bakauheni to Merak in Banten Province on D+5 Lebaran or Friday, April 28, decreased compared to Thursday, April 27.

Of the 90,031 passengers, it was recorded that there were 7,817 pedestrians and 82,214 residents who used private vehicles. The data decreased when compared to the number of passengers last Thursday which reached 95,999.
The number of vehicles crossing from Bakauheni to Merak is 19,596. This data is somewhat decreased when compared to Thursday's data, which is 21,461 vehicles.
Of the 19,596 vehicles, 6,068 motorbikes, 11,460 cars, 484 buses and 1,584 trucks were recorded.
Until now, the flow back with the highest number of passengers and vehicles occurred on April 25, 2023 (D+2) with a total passenger of 123,232 and a total of 28,252 vehicles.
Despite the decline, Syaifullahill said, his party did not relax the crossing service to anticipate the peak of backflow or billion which is predicted to occur on Sunday, April 30 and Monday, May 1.
Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi asked the management of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry to prepare for the second wave of backflow on April 30 and May 1, 2023 at Bakauheni Ferry Port, Lampung.

"There are people whose homecoming is still long and will only return this weekend. For that, we must be ready to serve well and I ask the President Director of ASDP Indonesia Ferry to take care of this," Budi said when met at Bakauheni port, Lampung, Friday.
According to Budi, Bakauheni Ferry Port is capable of holding 39,000 vehicles including 33 ferries that are ready to carry passengers along with vehicles to Merak Port.
If the Bakauheni Ferry Port is congested, all vehicles will be diverted to Panjang Port. His party has also prepared a traffic regulation scheme so that there is no accumulation in the port environment.
