Disbursing IDR 60.76 Billion, Three Flood Control Projects Undertaken In NTT

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) noted that three facilities and infrastructure development projects for flood control were carried out in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) in 2023. The state budget financing support is worth IDR 60.76 billion.

"Three flood control projects carried out in NTT this year, namely flood control of the Malibaka River, Belu Regency; Waemese River, West Manggarai Regency, and Waepesi River, Manggarai Regency," said the Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Treasury of the Ministry of Finance of NTT Province, Catur Ariyanto Widodo quoting Antara.

Catur said that the three flood control projects had realized the distribution of each advance for flood control in the Malibaka River by 20 percent with a contract value of IDR. 16.9 billion.

The flood control for the Waemese River was realized at 20 percent of the contract value of IDR17.03 billion, and the flood control of the Waepesi River was also 20 percent of the contract value of IDR26.83 billion.

"These ongoing projects will provide benefits in the form of flood control that overflows and water-damaged power control," he said.

Catur also said that the flood control project is part of the performance of the APBN to support infrastructure development to reduce the risk of natural disasters in the NTT region.

The presence of the government's strategic projects, he said, also provided multi-effects, one of which was in the form of employment, so that residents had sources of income to improve welfare.

Therefore, he said, projects originating from the APBN needed to be jointly escorted by various elements of residents so that they could be completed and provide optimal benefits for the community.

"The state budget belongs to all residents, so it needs to continue to be monitored for use to ensure that it is in accordance with the objectives and targets," he said.
