Potential Rainfall, Homecomers In Central Sulawesi Asked Not To Travel At Night

PALU - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency of the Palu Meteorological station advised the people of Central Sulawesi (Sulteng) who will travel for Eid Al-Fitr 2023 not to travel at night.

"We appeal to the people of Central Sulawesi who will travel back and forth by land to always be careful and advised to travel in the morning," said Head of Meteorological Palu BMKG, Nur Alim, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, April 16.

BMKG predicts that the Central Sulawesi (Central Sulawesi) region will still experience light to heavy rain in the next three days. The rain is predicted to occur in the afternoon until the evening.

"Our area for the next three days is 85 percent still with the potential for rain, but not extreme rain. Seeing that our area is also on the Trans Sulawesi route along the hill that needs to be watched out for, by him we suggest to residents to take a homecoming trip in the morning," he said.

According to him, traveling back and forth at night will also interfere with visibility.

"He is because along Trans Sulawesi there are many hills, usually if it rains, gravel will fall and can be dangerous," he said.

Not only on land routes, BMKG also appealed to residents who use sea transportation services to always be careful with the height of the waves.

"The height of the waves can be up to 1.5 meters in the afternoon and at night. For traditional fishermen, they are also expected to be careful. Because the waves are getting high. Follow the journey during the day, avoid traveling in the afternoon and at night," said Nur Alim.
