Google Brings Over 800 Free TV Channels to Google TV
JAKARTA - Google has announced that it will double the viewing of movies and various TV shows on the Google TV platform, along with increasing the amount of monthly bills to users.
"Today, we're introducing a new live TV experience that lets you explore more than 800 free TV channels across multiple providers, organized in one easy-to-use guide right on the Live tab," Google wrote in its announcement, quoted Wednesday, April 12.
While the price of Google TV's monthly subscription will increase, the search giant said users will still be able to watch the free TV broadcasts available, ranging from local newscasts and popular shows to other hit movies.
"Starting today, we're integrating access to free channels from Tubi, Plex, and Haystack News into the Live tab, in addition to the existing channel lineup from Pluto TV," Google added.
What's more, the company also said it will be launching free native channels from Google TV that you can watch without even having to download or open the app first.

In total, Google TV will deliver more than 800 premium channels and programming, including news channels from NBC, ABC, CBS and FOX, in more than 10 languages including Spanish, Hindi and Japanese.
While the Google TV changes are said to be arriving starting today, the company added it will roll them out over the coming weeks.
Before that, make sure you have a Google TV device such as a Chromecast with Google TV or televisions from Sony, TCL, Hisense, and Philips with Google TV built-in. The company says the feature will be coming to Android TV devices later this year.
