This Is Ganjar Pranowo's Hope For The New Menpora To Pay Attention To Disabled Athletes

SEMARANG - President Joko Widodo has just appointed Dito Ariotedjo as Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) on Monday, April 3. Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo hopes that the newly appointed Menpora can continue the performance of the previous ministers, including paying attention to disabled athletes.

"Hopefully the new Minister will also have special attention because many of our disabled athletes are heroes and great," said Ganjar when met after the Tarawih prayer with Vice President Ma'ruf Amin at the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque, Semarang City, Monday (3/4/2023) night.

According to Ganjar Pranowo, special attention for athletes with disabilities is very important considering what they have given to the Indonesian sports world, especially in the international arena. In fact, many of these disabled athletes make the nation and state proud by becoming champions in various international events.

"Hopefully the attention is the same as the other athletes. It's the same as being part of the equalization, yes. Surely these athletes will feel proud and hopefully it will be continued and boosted," he said.

Another important thing that Ganjar Pranowo does not forget is the development and development of disabled athletes. It is known that the warehouse and homebase of disabled athletes are in Central Java. For this reason, he firmly gives full support to the development and development of athletes, including their welfare.

"The disabled athletes are in Central Java, yes. We are from the local government, city government, and regional governments in Soloraya as well as all support. We will also soon send SOIna athletes to Berlin. Yesterday we also met with the old Menpora and we raised funds," said Ganjar.

Meanwhile, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin said Dito Ariotedjo was appointed as Menpora replacing Zainuddin Amali's resignation position. He hopes that Menpora Dito Ariotedjo can give a stronger breakthrough and enthusiasm in organizing youth and sports. Especially at the age of Dito, including the youngest minister in the ranks of the Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin cabinet.

"I hope that with the new Menpora and indeed from the younger generation, younger than the old Menpora, it is hoped that the breakthrough will be more visible and stronger. Of course, young people are usually more enthusiastic and have passion," he said.

He explained, in the field of youth and sports, there is still homework that must be well organized. For example, regarding youth, there are still many youth organizations divided or divided into two groups. Also not the maximum role of youth through Karang Taruna.

"First is youth. This youth problem must be reorganized. There are still many of these youth organizations that are divided, there are still those that are divided into groups, then the importance of functioning or entering the Karang Taruna. Yesterday it was not optimal," he said.

Regarding sports, said Ma'ruf Amin, so far it has been well arranged because there is already a big design about national sports. In fact, achievements in the field of sports have begun to be seen in recent years.
