In The Last Week, 4 Bridges In Cianjur Were Damaged By Floods
The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Cianjur Regency, West Java, noted that four bridges connecting between villages in Takokak, Sukanagara and Sukaresmi sub-districts had been cut off due to flooding over the past week.
Head of BPBD Cianjur, Dindin said to anticipate that residents would not be isolated by his party through sub-districts and villages asking for an emergency bridge to be built, while waiting for coordination with the relevant agencies in the Cianjur Regency Government.
"Most of the permanent bridge collapsed and was swept away by the swift river water, so residents in three sub-districts hope that the bridge construction can be carried out soon because it is the main access for residents, especially the economy," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, April 2.
The construction of an emergency bridge in Takokak and Sukanagara and Sukaresmi sub-districts was immediately carried out by village officials together with local residents, so that the access of residents who had been isolated had reopened. However, the emergency bridge that was built could not be passed by four-wheeled vehicles.
As for the rebuilding of the broken bridge, his party has reported it to the Cianjur Perkimtan and PUTR Offices, two of which are in Sukanagara District, one unit in Takokak District and one unit in Sukaresmi District.
"We hope that the rebuilding of the broken bridge can be carried out immediately so that the activities of residents in the three sub-districts return to normal because during the existence of the bridge it is the main and fastest access for residents," he said.
Meanwhile, the head of Simpang Village, Takokak District, Deden, said that due to the flood that hit the area two days ago, tens of houses and five hectares of rice fields ready to harvest were flooded, plus one bridge was broken by the flood.
"If the bridge breaks between villages and sub-districts, so that residents' activities were isolated, but the second day after the flash flood, we together with the sub-district officials built an emergency bridge that two-wheeled vehicles could pass," he said.
