Based on the story and evidence of the order, it is suspected that female prisoners work as commercial sex workers through a strengthened application. But why are prisoners exploited like that. If prison officers, why come into prisons at night?

According to Suratmin, one of the female prison officers who started duty since December 2022, he was not authorized to answer the question. However, he admitted that he knew and confirmed the story of a female prisoner being escorted to the prison in the middle of the night.

"I know the story but I have no right and have the authority to answer, the only one with the most authority is Kalapas. Can you tell me who informed the information, mas?," he said when contacted via cell phone, Sunday, November 12.

Suratmin said that currently Yekti, as soon as Kalapas was usually called, was being hit by a problem caused by a female inmate who was entrusted with escaping and returning to her parents' house in Kasui Village, Kasui District, Lampung.

Nurmawati is a prisoner entrusted by the Karawaci Police with a case of abuse. She escaped from the Tangerang Class II Women's Prison on Wednesday (6/12/2023).

Regarding the alleged convict who was exploited as a prostitute, Edward Pagar Alam said that at this time his party did not want to comment and was still investigating the information. He added that currently the Director General of prisons is investigating every officer in the women's prison.

"Regarding the information on prisoners being exploited, we do not want to comment before seeing concrete evidence, if there is information from online drivers, we will accommodate it first. Negligence from prison officers so that the detainees can escape will be taken care of by the Serang Regional Office, Banten. So the Director General of Prisons will ask the Banten Regional Office to carry out intensive examinations of the officers on duty," he said.

Indonesia Club observer Gigih Guntoro explained that from a structural point of view the prison was tiered. The top position of the prison is the Kalapas and below the Head of the Prison Security Unit (KPLP). Regarding the alleged exploitation of women, Gigih said it might happen but it is difficult to prove.

"Regarding the exploitation, it may happen, but it is difficult to prove," he said.

"This structural arena should be part of a fairly tight security for the process of exiting or entering anyone into the prison," Gigih Guntoro told VOI, Monday, December 11.

Gigih also added that it would be unreasonable if the prison did not know the process of escaping the prisoner. What has become a common secret is added by Gigih Guntoro if he wants to leave the prison on the grounds of illness, the prisoner must have compensation given to the prison.

"Well, if you can run away but it is not known what caused the escape, what is clear is that it doesn't make sense. Usually there is a permanent procedure (Protap) if the prisoner is released, he must be escorted by 2 or 3 guards. The goal is clear to maintain the safety of the prisoner or prisoner," he said.

Gigih said that this surveillance negligence would impose sanctions on Kalapas as previously received by Kalapas. In Tangerang there have been several times that prisoners have fled and received sanctions removed from their positions.

"It's true, the joint team from the Tangerang City Metro Police together with the Class II A prison employee of the Banten Ministry of Law and Human Rights have succeeded in arresting Nurmawati at her parents' residence in the Lampung area, around 16.00 WIB," said Zain in a brief statement.

He said that since information was obtained regarding detainees on behalf of Nurmawati, they fled from prison. The Tangerang City Metro Police, Polda Metro Jaya and Lapas Class II A immediately formed a joint team to hunt down the detainees to various places and locations suspected of being hiding.

Zain said the three-day search had finally paid off.

"We finally managed to secure the Karawaci Police who were involved in the persecution case without putting up a fight," said Zain again.
