JAKARTA Meta continues to roll out updates for the Threads app. This time, the integrated platform with Instagram will get new features that are useful for sports fans.

As Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on Friday, March 22, this feature will feature a real-time sporting score. The first sport to be included in this feature is the leading basketball league.

"The immediate score will be in Threads. The NBA is the first, and we will soon add another league," Zuckerberg wrote via his personal Threads account.

The post received a positive response and many Threads users said they were enthusiastic. According to some users, the real-time sporting score display can make Threads one step ahead of platform X.

Currently, only a few users can see the NBA's live score. A Meta spokesperson told 9to5google the feature was still being tested. However, they did not reveal when the feature would be released to the public version.

With the launch of this score feature, Meta believes that Threads can be a better place for its users. This platform can be used as a place to discuss or follow the latest updates on sports.

In fact, Meta has a special reason for choosing the NBA basketball league. Through a press release, Meta says basketball is one of the most popular topics on the platform.

"Babbetball has become one of the most popular topics in the app, and NBA Threads has become one of the most active sports communities in the app," Meta said.

Threads will get more sports leagues in the future. This feature will work when users trace the name of the sporting event or the name of the team participating in the game they are looking for.

This feature works in four ways. First, when the user searches about the game the day before it is held, they will get information about the start of the match.

Second, when the match is being held, the results of the match will show a real-time score. Next, looking for the name of the match the day after the event is held, it will display the final score from both teams.

When the final score is displayed, Threads users will see the logo of each of the teams playing. Users can tap on the logo and they will be directed to a special conversation about the team.
