JAKARTA - Microsoft announced it will stop Android applications for Windows, including the Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA), the basic components behind Amazon Appstore (and other Android applications) in Windows 11.
"As part of our commitment to meeting the growing needs of customers, we update our product offerings on a regular basis," a Microsoft spokesperson told Engadget.
The update of new product offerings for customers in the future means the same as stopping old products, and introducing new innovations.
"Microsoft remains dedicated to platforms and open ecosystems, and we hope to continue to bring the best experiences and applications to Windows," he added.
Microsoft says, for customers who install the Amazon App store (or other apps and games that use the WSA) in Windows 11 before Tuesday, they can continue to use it until March 5, 2025.

Meanwhile, Amazon, in a separate statement, said that the App Store and other related applications could no longer be found in the Microsoft Store starting on Wednesday.
Starting March 6, 2024, Windows 11 subscribers will not be able to search for Amazon Appstore or related apps from Microsoft Store. Customers can continue to use the Amazon Appstore application they previously installed and can still receive app updates," the announcement read.
