JAKARTA After appearing on Google Mapsversi iOS, the local weather display is finally visible on Android devices. Apart from being able to see weather temperature information, users can also see the Air Quality Index (AQI).

This update is seen in the upper left corner of the screen, precisely below thecarousel button. These two new features are combined in a small box with additional emojis that adjust the weather at the location where the user is located.

Whenever the user shifts the map, the weather emoji will change according to the temperature in the area being searched for or viewed. However, when the user taps on any button in the Maps view, the small box will disappear.

The box that displays weather forecasts and AQI can show more information. Users only need to tap on the box until the pop-ups appear and show information like what time it rains.

Just like the weather search feature on Google, the pop-ups will show weather forecasts and temperatures within the next 12 hours. Meanwhile, explanations of the AQI will be seen under weather forecasts.

Maps will provide a brief explanation of AQI detected such as Bagus or Bad. The AQI information can show areas whose air is detected either good or bad. Users only need to tap on the AQI information.

This new feature has been seen in the Google Maps version 11,113.x. There is no information on which countries will get this update. However, VOI has checked directly into the latest version and the feature display has not been seen.
