Crypto Community Noisy After Gemini Prepares Surprise For XRP

Gemini, a crypto trading platform from the United States, recently caused a stir in the crypto community with his social media campaign on platform X. Gemini suddenly teased the XRP community in a number of his posts. Gemini, through a series of X posts signaling a major announcement regarding XRP that will soon be made.

The campaign started on Tuesday 18 January 2024 when Gemini's official Twitter account wrote, "Don't forget XRP." This post initially didn't get much response, but was followed by another post that wrote, "xcited about XRP," which immediately caught the attention of Twitter users, especially XRP fans. Eight minutes later, Gemini added that they would soon announce reasons for their excitement towards XRP.

Even so, until now, Gemini still has not provided further explanation of what they mean by the campaign. This has led to a lot of speculation among members of the XRP community. One of the most popular is speculation conveyed by Crypto Eri's account, a YouTuber and XRP supporter.

Eri said Gemini might launch an ETF Spot XRP product, given Gemini has just been appointed a secure guard for VanEck's Spot Bitcoin ETF product.

Another speculation comes from Ashley Prosper, who is also a community leader of XRP. Prosper argues that Gemini may list XRP on its newly licensed exchange platform from French financial authorities. The proposal refers to Gemini's post in August 2022 which states that it will support XRP trading once the asset has legal certainty in several countries, including France.

Gemini himself is a crypto trading platform that prioritizes security and compliance. Gemini was founded by Cameron and TylerLUVoss, who were early investors in the crypto field. Gemini offers a variety of products and services for individuals and institutions who want to buy, sell and store more than 70 crypto assets. Gemini is also the first platform to get an ISO/IEC certificate of 27001:2013 and SOC 1 Type 2 and SOC 2 Type 2.

XRP is a crypto asset developed by Ripple Labs, a technology company based in San Francisco. XRP aims to facilitate fast, cheap, and secure cross-border payment. Currently XRP is the fourth largest crypto asset by market cap, at a price of $0.55 (Rp 8,549.25) per coin.
