JAKARTA - Billionaire secretary-investor Ron Baron is optimistic that Elon Musk's rocket company, SpaceX, will reach a value of around 500 billion US dollars (IDR 7,847 trillion) by 2030.

In an interview with CNBC on Friday, November 10, Baron, who reportedly owns more than $1 billion in shares in the rocket company, expressed confidence that SpaceX would be assessed at around 250 billion to 300 billion US dollars in the next three years.

With SpaceX's current valuation of around 150 billion US dollars (Rp2,354 trillion), this makes it one of the most valuable private companies in the world.

Earlier this month, Elon Musk stated that Starlink, SpaceX's satellite internet unit, had reached a break-even point in cash flow. Starlink is the world's largest satellite company with a network of about 5,000 satellites in low-Earth orbit.

SpaceX is scheduled to record revenues of around $9 billion this year through the rocket launch and Starlink business. SpaceX's sales projections increased to around US$15 billion (Rp235.4 trillion) in 2024, Bloomberg News reported last Monday, citing sources familiar with the matter.
