World App Breaks 4 Million Downloads, More Worldcoin Users

JAKARTA - Recently, the crypto project owned by the founder of OpenAI Sam Altman, Worldcoin, continues to attract public attention. Worldcoin, known for its unique eye-slice scanning-based identification method, is now experiencing a significant increase in the adoption of their mobile wallet, namely the World App.

According to the latest blog post from the Worldcoin development team, the World App has reached a milestone by recording 4 million downloads. This figure includes downloads for Android and iOS platforms.

As the first product in the Worldcoin ecosystem introduced on May 8, 2023, the World App is designed to provide global financial services to everyone, including those who do not have access to banking services.

In addition to reaching 4 million downloads within six months, the World App also has more than 1 million active users. Even more interesting, the app has more than 100,000 active users every day and more than 500 thousand active users every week. During the same period, the app has also successfully processed more than 22 million transactions.

However, this data has not been officially verified by the leading crypto aggregator platform, CoinGecko. In August 2023, CoinGecko released a list of the 10 most popular wallets used to store crypto. Unfortunately, the World App is not included in this list.

If Worldcoin claims are verified by CoinGecko, then World App has a chance to sit in sixth place on the list of the most downloaded hot wallets.

In addition to the astonishing achievement of downloads, the World App also has other interesting features. The app is available on the Android and iOS platforms with relatively small sizes, only 18MB. The app also supports various languages and devices, which make them accessible to various users.

Worldcoin, the project behind the World App, aims to provide users with a unique digital identity by scanning eye slices. Users who successfully complete verification will be given "World ID" and 25 WLD tokens, tokens issued by Worldcoin.

At the time of writing, the price of the WLD token reached $1.81 (Rp28,464), a decrease of 4% in the last 24 hours. Since its introduction, WLD has been listed on leading crypto exchanges, including Binance, KuCoin, and Gate.io.
