JAKARTA - In recent days the social media world has been busy talking about allegations by the Ministry of Communication and Information that had blocked several sites such as Google Docs, firebase dynamics links, and hackerrank.

"Hello @kemkominfo, what else is this? Why is hackerrank dot com also blocked? Obviously that: online coding tests and technical interviews. We ask for an explanation, how is the blocking method, is it because the words 'hacker' are blocked immediately?" wrote user @lynxluna on X.

Responding to the issue, the Director General of Informatics Applications at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Semuel A. Pangerapan, emphasized that Kominfo is making efforts to increase the handling of negative content on the internet intensively.

According to him, during the handling of negative content, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics identified millions of websites or websites, internet protocols (IP), and applications to find as many negative content as possible on the internet.

"In particular, according to the instructions of the Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi, the Directorate General of Aptika took down and cut off access to sites containing online gambling content," said the man who is familiarly called Sammy.

Through this analysis and verification process, the Director General of Aptika has succeeded in capturing access to hundreds of thousands of websites, IPs, and applications containing negative content, which will later be terminated.

However, during the identification, analysis and verification process, Sammy explained that there were opportunities where several sites/websites that did not contain negative content were also affected, so they could not be accessed partially or completely.

"After going through a series of evaluations, we carried out normalizations at the first opportunity against some of the affected sites/websites," he said.

The Director General of Aptika, Ministry of Communications and Informatics, apologized and emphasized his commitment to improving the negative content handling system on the internet.

He also stated that he would continue to evaluate the negative content handling system in order to minimize potential errors that have an impact on other sites or applications.

According to VOI's monitoring, hackerrank sites can now return to normal access as usual.
