JAKARTA - Discord launched a series of new features and low-cost subscription packages dubbed Nitro Basic. There's also an Activities feature that includes YouTube integration as well as casual games.

Previously, Nitro Basic was only tested in the UK as the cheapest subscription plan, but now Discord is planning to roll it out globally this week.

For $2.99 per month, users will get a ton of features, including the ability to use emoji servers elsewhere on Discord. Users will also get a profile badge and support for uploading files up to 50MB.

Unfortunately, the Nitro Basic plan won't include the server upgrades, HD video streaming, animated avatars, and custom profiles that can be found in the $9.99 Nitro plan.

While the YouTube Watch Together integration feature will be made much more interactive than the YouTube Discord bot. Users can create video playlists with other users who must join if they want to hear and watch them together. The best part is that users with a Nitro subscription can invite their friends to some Activities even if they are not subscribed.

Furthermore, as quoted from Slashgear, Tuesday, October 18, users can also access casual games such as Putt Partty golf. However, if you want to play Poker Night, Sketch Heads, SpellCast, PuttParty and other games, users must subscribe to Nitro Basic.

Apart from that, admins will also be able to start exploring the Discord app directory starting tomorrow. Where they can get a server up and running with all the bots a user needs for moderation, automation and more.

Lastly, Discord is even starting to experiment with premium app subscriptions. Developers can start selling premium features for their native Discord app.

“The app world is a big part of Discord, and we want our platform to be a place where developers can explore their creativity, and that includes app developers looking to make money,” Discord said in a blog post.

"So we experimented with Premium App Subscriptions and allowed a small group of developers to sell their app's premium features natively on Discord."
