Mitsubishi Rayakan Production 100 Thousand Units Of Mini Full Electric Vehicles

JAKARTA - Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (Mitsubishi Motors) achieved brilliant achievements by recording a total production of 100,000 units of their full electric mini vehicles, Mitsubishi eK X EV and the Nissan Sakura model, in a short time in just 1 year 10 months from the start of production.

Production of these two models began in May 2022 at the Mitsubishi Motors Mizushima assembly plant. They managed to reach 50,000 units in the first year, and now, in less than two years, has reached 100,000 units.

"The Mitsubishi eK X EV and Nissan Sakura model was born from a collaboration between Mitsubishi Motors and Nissan, the two companies that have become pioneers in the electric vehicle industry. Both have received recognition through various automotive awards as ideal representations of mobility in supporting decarbonization efforts in Japan," said the company's official statement, released Tuesday, March 26.

As proof of the success of cooperation with Nissan, Mitsubishi Motors is determined to continue to improve the quality of Mitsubishi eK X EV and Nissan Sakura production so that more consumers can enjoy this vehicle.

This model has actually been introduced by Mitsubishi in the GIIAS 2023 event, which is a mini version of the Kei-class electric vehicle aimed at the Japanese market. However, there is no further information regarding the availability of this car in the Indonesian market.

Regarding specifications, visually, the front fascia Mitsubishi eK X EV is similar to Mitsubishi Xpander, only in smaller versions. The dimensions cover a length of 3,395 mm, a width of 1,475 mm, a height of 1,655 mm, and a wheel axis of 2,495 mm.

This car is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 20,000 watt-hour (wH) with a claim range of about 180 kilometers with one full charge. This battery is powered by a 47,000 watt electric motor. For charging, this electric car uses a ChaDeMo plug which is standard in Japan, allowing fast charging from 10 percent to full in 80 minutes. The price of Mitsubishi eK X EV starts from 2,398,000 Japanese yen or around Rp250 million.
