Deeper Student Knowledge In Automotive, Mitsubishi Donate Xpander To Triton For 5 Vocational Schools In Indonesia

JAKARTA - Emphasizing his dedication to the progress and development of vocational education in Indonesia, PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI) is again carrying out an interesting program, namely the Mitsubishi Motors Education Program (MEP).

As part of its ongoing initiative, this year's MMKSI again donated 5 (five) units of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles to 5 (five) Vocational High Schools majoring in Light Vehicle Engineering (TKR) in Indonesia.

The symbolic handover of donations this time was carried out again at the Mitsubishi Motors booth at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2024 at JIExpo Kemayoran Jakarta on February 22, 2024.

The vehicles donated by MMKSI consist of the flagship MPV model, namely Xpander and also a light trading vehicle that has been proven to be resilient, Triton. Both models are expected to be a means for students to deepen their knowledge of the latest automotive technology based on the Mitsubishi Motors curriculum.

"Mitsubishi Motors Education Program (MEP) aims to empower the next generation of automotive professionals by providing important resources and facilities and providing practical learning opportunities for vocational schools," said Atsushi Kurita, President Director of PT MMKSI, in an official statement, Friday, February 23.

He further said that through this donation, MMKS strives to improve students' technical skills and prepare them for a successful career in the automotive industry.

"We believe that the intervention of industry players can strengthen student education and learning in schools to create a quality and beneficial HR ecosystem for various parties. This trust also encourages us to continue to equip vocational schools with one of the important tools in improving students' technical skills. And through donations as well as an applicative Mitsubishi Motors technician training, it is hoped that it can improve students' technical skills and prepare them for successful careers in the automotive industry," he added.

As a complement to the contribution of practicum vehicles provided, MMKSI will also provide training in the form of Mitsubishi Motors Service Technician Education Program (MSTEP-1) for 15 students from each vocational school.

This program will further deepen students' understanding of Mitsubishi Motors technology, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in students' future careers.

The training provided includes basic automotive engineering skills which are mandatory programs for every Mitsubishi Motors mechanics worldwide. The training will also be equipped with the provision of basic automotive knowledge that includes systems on vehicles such as gasoline or diesel fuel systems, electrical systems, power train systems, chassis, and so on.

To ensure they (students) are ready and have standards that match the needs of the automotive industry, in the training MMKSI will provide knowledge about pre-delivery inspection (PDI), free service and routine maintenance of vehicles.
