Honda CR-V Hybrid Sales Success: Increasing Consumer Preferences

JAKARTA - Honda recorded a satisfactory sales achievement of wholesale, selling 11,938 cars throughout 2023. This figure outperformed sales results in September and recorded an increase of 19.8 percent compared to the same period last year.

This success was influenced by the positive performance of some of the latest products, especially the All New Honda CR-V. Launched in August, the SUV received positive responses from the market, especially thanks to the latest technology implemented. In addition, the presence of the latest CR-V hybrid variant also boosted sales.

Yusak Billy, Sales & Marketing and Aftersales Director of PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM), revealed that the Vehicle Ordering Letter (SPK) for this model has reached nearly 3,000 units since it was first introduced.

"The receipt of All New Honda CR-V in the community went well. Orders until last week had reached more than 2,900 units," Billy said when contacted by VOI, Tuesday, November 21.

Billy added that the hybrid variant, particularly the type e: HEV RS, became the variant with the highest sales, reaching 70 percent of total sales. It plans to ship up to 1,500 Hybrid CRV units by the end of 2023.

"All New Honda CR-V 2024 is equipped with a 1.5 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, which produces up to 187 dk of power and 243 Nm of torque. This variant is available with a two-wheel drive system (2WD) and all wheels (AWD)," explained Billy.

Meanwhile, for the hybrid variant, the Honda CR-V e: HEV RS has a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder Atkinson Cycle DOHC engine that collaborates with two electric motors. This generates up to 204 dk of power and 335 Nm of torque, equipped with a 1.06 kWh capacity lithium-ion battery.

All-New CR-V with the system e:HEV can operate in three driving modes, namely EV Mode, Hybrid Mode, and Engine Mode, which automatically changes according to road conditions, driving methods, and engine loads.

The price of this premium SUV was only announced today. Type 1.5 L turbo sells for IDR 739.9 million (OTR Jakarta), while type 2.0 L or All New CR-V Hybrid is valued at IDR 804.5 million (OTR Jakarta).
