JAKARTA - PT Sokoindo Automobile, a manufacturer of DFSK and Seres vehicles, has confirmed their participation in the 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS).

GIIAS 2023 will be an important moment for PT Sokoindo to show its contribution to the Indonesian automotive industry by showing off a number of its flagship vehicles.

The DFSK brand will introduce several models such as DFSK Glory i-Auto, DFSK Glory 560, as well as a commercial variant, namely DFSK Gelora and DFSK Gelora E, which are the first commercial vehicles to use electric power.

Apart from DFSK, the Seres brand will also participate in GIIAS 2023 by showing Seres E1, a mini-sized electric car. In addition, the car, which was introduced in May, will also be announced its official price.

This was revealed by Achmad Rofiqi, Head of Marketing of PT Sokoindo Automobile, who explained that GIIAS 2023 will be the first opportunity for Seres E1 to disclose information about the price and specifications.

"At the GIIAS event later, the E1 Seres will be officially disclosed regarding various details," said Rofiqi in a presentation to the media at JW Marriott, Jakarta, on Thursday, July 14.

Rofiqi also hopes that the presence of Seres E1 in the Indonesian electric vehicle market can provide competitive colors and competition amid the booming growth of the electric vehicle segment.

"Hopefully with the Seres E1, the electric vehicle (EV) market in Indonesia will grow," added Rofiqi.

DFSK, which produces vehicles with internal combustion engines (ICE), is different from Seres which focuses on renewable energy vehicles such as electricity.

Seres will run a new energy vehicle corridor using core batteries, electric motors, and several other components. As a result, Seres became the first automotive brand to present 100 percent electric vehicles in Indonesia.

Based on known information, Seres E1 will be offered in two variants competing with Wuling Air EV. Both versions have different distances and prices.
