JAKARTA - The U-16 Indonesian national team coach, Nova Arianto, said bad communication between players was still the main factor blocking the team's performance. He tried to improve it by implementing intense communication in his team.

Nova Arianto is trusted to handle the U-16 Indonesian national team to look at the 2024 AFF U-16 Cup and the 2025 U-17 Asian Cup Qualification. As preparation, he has led the team to conduct training camps as well as player selection.

Nova explained that there was a similar problem with the national team of young to senior age. The former Persib Bandung defender said poor communication between players in the field was an unavoidable factor.

"That's why I am responsible for the U-16 Indonesian national team. What I want to take first is what really becomes a shortage in the senior Indonesian national team, right?" said Nova Arianto.

"The current problem is communication issues. Coach Shin Tae-yong (the head coach of the Indonesian national team) always talks that Indonesian players are weak in communicating with his friends. So, that's what I'm trying to improve at the bottom level," he said.

Realizing the communication factor is something that must be improved, Nova strives to build good communication between players from the young age level. He hopes his efforts will produce sweet results when the players enter the next level.

"In the U-16 Indonesian national team, I will fix the communication problem so that later when he arrives at U-20, U-23, or senior he is used to the situation," said Nova.

During the training session, Nova often shouted to remind the players to communicate well. This is also seen in the internal match played by the U-16 Indonesian national team.
