JAKARTA - Coinciding with the celebration of Christmas 25 December, the Boston Celtics made a sweet note at the Los Angeles Lakers headquarters. The visitors toppled the hosts by winning 126-115 on the local Monday or Tuesday morning WIB.

Kristaps Porzingis scored 28 points and made 11 rebounds, while Jayson Tatum added 25 points for the Celtics, who were able to hold Lakers star Anthony Davis to only score 40 points.

The match between the two teams that share the record for the most NBA titles with 17 titles each is one in five games on Christmas Day, which starts with New York Knicks 129-122 wins over the Milwaukee Bucks at Madison Square Garden.

The Lakers star, LeBron James, in Saturday's match accounted for 40 points when he faced Oklahoma City Thunder. But in this match, he only scored 16 points.

James also recorded nine rebounds and eight assists, but a less aggressive performance at the start of the game made it difficult for his team to keep up with the visitors.

Celtics shot out with a 12-0 lead and 18 lead before the Lakers started to erode it.

Davis scored 20 points in the first half, pushing to score points that cut the deficit to 58-57 towards the end of the first half.

Jayson Tatum said the thing he liked the most about this win was how Boston responded after the Lakers followed, then took the lead in the first two points in the third quarter with the Jarred Vanderbilt dunk.

"And this is a big win, right? It's Christmas Day and it's hard to win outside the home. So, this is how we respond and execute it at the end of the game," Tatum said as quoted by AFP and reported by Antara.

Boston answered the hosts' revival with seven points in a row and the Lakers were never again ahead when the Celtics improved their record of being the best in the league with 23-6.
