Persikabo 1973 Dragged Into Online Gambling House Cases, Threatened With Point Reduction

Persikabo 1973 is in danger of reducing points because it is dragged into the case of an online gambling house (doc. Special).

JAKARTA The Anti-Mafia Ball Task Force not only revealed the match fixing case that occurred in the PSS Sleman vs Madura FC match in Liga 2 2018, but also the involvement of Indonesian clubs with online gambling houses.

The Anti-Mafia Ball Task Force said the online gambling house, SBotop, dragged the Liga 1 club this season, Persikabo 1973. From this case, at least four suspects with the initials TR, L, DR, and S have been arrested.

Previously, it was known that Persikabo 1973 was sponsored by SBotop and the sponsor's name was plastered on the front team jersey. However, it is now replaced with Artha Graha Peduli.

At a press conference session of the Anti-Mafia Ball Task Force last week, December 13, 2023, the General Chairperson of PSSI, Erick Thohir, emphasized that his party would take firm action if there were indications of violations from both individuals and clubs, in accordance with PSSI regulations.

"Regarding the status of referees, players, club owners, and of course individuals in accordance with PSSI regulations. They are in accordance with the agreement and the decision to be sentenced to life should not be in football," said Erick Thohir at the signing of the PSSI and Polri Memorandum of Understanding.

For the club itself, the mechanism is in Komdis and Exco PSSI. I propose a reduction in points and other penalties. So that the club keeps football matches in the Indonesian league clean. So, our context is transparent and firm," said Erick.

Referring to this statement, it is not impossible to be proven to have violated discipline, Persikabo 1973 could be subject to a point reduction.

Previously, in the PSS Sleman vs Madura FC match fixing case, it was possible that the Javanese Super Elang, which is now in Liga 1 2023/2024, was threatened with relegation. This refers to the PSSI 2023 Disciplinary Code.

The relegation penalty refers to Article 64 concerning Corruption Points 1 and 5 of the PSSI Disciplinary Code 2023. This case also does not have a time limit because it refers to Article 43 of the 2023 Disciplinary Code concerning Time Limits to Trial Discipline Violations.
