Bounty Ramdhan Reveals Challenges To Become Drummer Sheila On 7

JAKARTA - Bounty Ramdhan has been appointed as drummer for the Sheila On 7 session since 2022. He premiered with Duta (vocals), Eross (guitar), and Adam (bass) at the Jogja Volkswagen Festival on July 17, 2022.

For Thomas Ramdhan's son, appearing with Sheila On 7 gave him many new experiences. Bounty, who claimed to need preparation in many ways, had to face Sheila On 7's spontaneity since her first appearance.

"The most wow moment was when I first performed with Sheila On 7, I just adapted it, it was immediately offered a song that was not on the list," said Bounty Ramdhan, launching Sheila On 7 TV's YouTube channel, Sunday, April 14, 2024.

"Yes, I was a session, suddenly in the middle of the set I remember Mas Eross and Mas Duta asking, 'How safe song is that?' I said, 'Aman'. Alhamdulillah, it went smoothly," he continued.

Luckily, Bounty had time to play the song How was it during training with Sheila On 7.

On another stage, the 31-year-old drummer was even asked to play songs that had not been trained before.

"Ever before the concert, a song that had never been trained was asked for a song that had never been trained. So, when the sound check was, I asked for 10 minutes to listen first. It's not that I don't know, if I see Sheila On 7 performing, some song arrangements are different from what we heard on the cassette," said Bounty.

"In accordance with that, it's quite homework. Yes, it's not an obstacle, but rather a challenge," he added.

Being a part of Sheila On 7 for almost two years, Bounty Ramdhan feels he has learned an important lesson as a musician. Moreover, he felt that the band's personnel who incidentally were much more senior, were open enough to help him develop.

"From there I learned to be ready for whatever happens on stage. If it's on stage, everything can happen. From there, I learned a lot," said Bounty Ramdhan.

"The masses are also very open in my opinion. I rarely see musicians who are already in that class but are very open to young musicians. This is a blessing for us," he said.
